HALL OF FAME AWARD

The IATA Hall of Fame was created to recognize members who have demonstrated career excellence in the athletic training profession in the State of Idaho. It is the highest honor which may be bestowed upon a member. Therefore, individuals inducted into the Hall of Fame must exemplify the profession of athletic training by enhancing the quality of health care provided by athletic trainers and advancing the athletic training profession with such qualities as leadership, service, dedication, scholarly activities, promotion and professionalism.

Criteria:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of twenty years as a certified member of the IATA in good standing or have retired in good standing
  • Candidates must be licensed with the Idaho State Board of Medicine
  • Individuals may be nominated no more than every other year

Nomination:

  • Any certified member in good standing of the NATA can sponsor a candidate

Deadline:

Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award

The Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award is an honor that recognizes IATA members for their exceptional and unique contributions to the athletic training profession and association in the State of Idaho.  These contributions can include, but are not limited to: leadership, advancement of the association and profession within the state, and exemplary performance within the state.  

Criteria:

  • Nominees must be members in good standing of the Idaho Athletic Trainers’ Association (IATA) for a minimum of 5 years or have retired in good standing.
  • Nominees MUST have made a contribution to the profession of athletic training at the State level.
  • Nominees must be a licensed athletic trainer with the State of Idaho.
  • Nominees may not be the current President, Secretary/Treasurer or current member of the IATA Awards Committee. 
  • Hall of Fame members are ineligible for nomination.
  • The award need not be given every year if no candidates are nominated or deemed qualified for the award. 
  • Multiple candidates may receive the award if the committee recommends more than one person.
  • The award may be received by an athletic trainer only once.
  • Nominations for this award will be reviewed by the Honors and Awards Committee and recommendations made to the IATA Board of Directors.

Nomination:

  • Any certified athletic trainer, administrator or faculty member of a secondary school, college, university or medical facility may nominate individuals for the award.

Deadline:

Honorary Membership

Honorary membership in the Idaho Athletic Trainers’ Association is an honor reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the athletic training profession. Though not certified athletic trainers themselves, they have dedicated a significant portion of their careers to advancing, promoting and championing the efforts of our association and its members.

Criteria: 

  • Any Non-ATC members may be nominated
  • Non-certified or licensed athletic trainers may be nominated
  • A minimum of 10 years of service to the profession is required

Nomination:

  • Any certified athletic trainer, administrator or faculty member of a secondary school, college, university or medical facility may nominate individuals for the award.

Deadline:

President’s Award

To recognize individuals and/or organizations who have contributed in a special way to the profession of athletic training in the State of Idaho.

Criteria:

  • Any individual or organization may be nominated.
  • Certified Athletic Trainers are eligible.
  • Nominee must have made a contribution to the profession of athletic training in the State of Idaho
  • Contribution made by nominee may have been one time, or may have been through a demonstrated history of contribution.
  • Nominations for this award will be reviewed by the Board of Directors of the IATA.

Nomination:

  • Only the IATA President may nominate individuals for the award.

Deadline:

  •  May 1st
